Black and white is an amazing style trend in kitchen design; not only is it becoming increasingly popular in the UK, but there’s no denying its unique visual impact. As ever, your laminate kitchen worktops are a vital part of creating that impact, and here at Savoy Timber we’ve got a huge range for you to choose from. We talk about them in a bit more detail below, but first, we’ve got a few handy tips on how to create your very own monochrome kitchen!
When looking at a monochrome style for your kitchen, the very first thing you’ve got to work out is – are you going for a black kitchen with white worktops, or the other way around? Personally, here at Savoy Timber we think the easiest choice is a mostly white kitchen, especially if you’re a bit tight on space. White reflects light a lot better, which means it’ll feel brighter and open up the space. It’s also exceptionally well suited if you’re going for more of a contemporary style with your kitchen, and stunning black kitchen worktops can add an extra dramatic flair to it all.
On the other hand, if you’re feeling adventurous, you might want to dry darker colours for a mostly black kitchen, with dashes of brightness through clean white kitchen worktops. It’s true that it’s these sorts of kitchens are a lot less common, but that means that if you find a way to make it work, then your worktops can help you make a kitchen that’s truly unique! How about that. As we’ve noted previously, you can even accessories a bit with black and white salt and pepper shakers, and add even more of a yin-yang vibe to your space.
Whichever way round you choose to do things, we’ve got some great suggestions for both! First up is our White Sparkle Gloss laminate kitchen worktop – one of our most consistently popular choices here at Savoy Timber, it’s a prime example of the robust, hard-wearing nature of our laminate kitchen worktops (the material of which also makes them particularly easy to clean).
If you want to take things a step further in that direction, then we’ve got something that might appeal: our Pearl White 30mm Laminate kitchen worktop. It’s exceptionally slim and refined, with its slightly textured surface that still gives a fantastic impression of purity and cleanliness. It’s an amazing choice for a contemporary kitchen.
Looking at things from the other side, our Luxury Black Sparkle Gloss 40mm Laminate kitchen worktop really lives up to the ‘luxury’ part of its name, with tiny aluminium specks giving it subtle twinkle all across its surface. If you want a black kitchen worktop that oozes class, this is definitely it.
That’s not all we’ve got at Savoy Timber – why not check out our best-selling worktop range for more ideas on colours, textures and edge profiles? You can always pop into any one of our showrooms in Preston, Blackpool or Wigan to see them in the flesh, where one of our friendly members of staff will be on hand to answer any questions you might have. That’s what we’re here for!
