Here at Savoy Timber, our motto is ‘DIY Made Easy’, and we take it very seriously! We want to take the hassle out of DIY, and many of our products and services are geared exclusively towards that aim. Amongst these is our Cut-To-Size service, for any worktop amongst our range. It’s exactly what it sounds like, and saves you a lot of time and energy right from the off. Here’s what’s involved.
Mainly, what we need from you is the specification of the worktop. Once you know how long you want your worktop to be, round it up to the next nearest size, and we’ll cut it down to your requirements. (Obviously you shouldn’t round it down – otherwise you’d be left with the size below you need, and that just doesn’t make sense.) Here at Savoy Timber, we’ve got everything we need right here to get the job done down to your exacting specifications, and we’ll even cut the width for free!
All our expertise is in-house, too. Our expert joiners have years of experience in the trade, and can even professionally fit the edging tape onto your worktop or breakfast bar for you. By keeping these skills in-house, it means that we can guarantee a high quality service every time, rather than leaving anything up to chance.
So then, for our first example, if you were after a worktop that measured 1981mm long by 600mm wide, you’d want to pick out a 2 metre-long worktop. Then, it’s just a matter of specifying your desired size in the note section at the checkout, and we’ll make sure it’s at the right size before we ship it right to your doorstep.
For a second example, say you wanted a worktop that measured 2689mm long by 500mm wide. In that case, you’d order a 3 metre worktop, again making sure to note your exact desired size at the checkout. Then, our professional joining team will cut both the length and width down to size (1), before sending out your worktop to you with plenty of edging for each side (2).
That’s no problem at all! It’s worth saying that all of our worktops are produced slightly oversized by the manufacturer. That means that if you opt not to take advantage of our Cut-To-Size service, your worktop will arrive slightly bigger than you need it. Don’t worry! This is normal practice. As you may well be aware, often weighty, bulky things like worktops don’t behave themselves when you’re trying to fit them through doorways or down hallways, and there’s the ever-present danger of scuffing them through handling or transportation. By oversizing them slightly, it means that if they’re knocked or bumped on the way to their final destination, you can just shave off the bits that are scuffed.
At Savoy Timber we’re firm believers in the quality of all of our products. We’re set on helping you to make sure they arrive looking at their best, and stay that way for absolutely as long as possible. We’re happy to help with anything you need – just give us a call on 0345 0268 799, or pop into any one of our stores in Blackpool, Preston or Wigan. Our staff are always around to lend a hand!
